Angels landed unusually in Shanghai last night. For the first time in Victoria's Secret show history, the big fashion event was in China. The lingerie brand built up the biggest catwalk in the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Lots of glitter, amazing embroideries and beautiful models - let's see the creations!
Outfits of this section were created in collaboration with Balmain. Creative director Olivier Rousteing channeled a rocker spirit, showing studded, red and black plaid and embellished ensembles. Candice Swanepoel opened the show, the blond model returned to the stage after giving birth to her son.
In the next block, Greco-Roman deities dazzled the audience with gold laurel wreaths and ornate gold-leaf wings. This section also featured the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra - worn by Brasilian beauty Lais Ribeiro - made of 6000 precious stones, including diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz in 18-karat gold. This collection is foretelling this year's Christmas trends too: silver, gold, icy blue and mint will be trendy.
The name guessed that - thanks to this generation - something else will happen.
This section got even more athleisure-y and the usual pink was lured from its throne by vibrant bright colors. Models shrutted out in tiny puffer jackets and net creations.
I'm always looking forward to the winter tour, because the stage has an effect, it looks like sparkling snow. This year instead of the "snow", we could see a colorful funny folk world with lots of blue, wine-red and brown.
These looks echoed the blue and white designs of Ming dynaty vases and worked suprisingly good with black lingerie. This part of the show was an honor before Chinese culture, and we could see more Asian faces on the runway, double from last year in fact.
The show closed with a multicultural section presenting the diversity of the world. Ethnic pieces were composed of spectacular woven patterns, colorful beads and feather decorations. It was a fantastic night, can't wait for the next one! ;)
