Gyémánt, flitter, igazgyöngy és tollak / Diamonds, sequins, pearls and feathers
csütörtök, november 07, 2013They spiced up the costumes of The Great Gatsby, for which the well-known Catherine Martine, Baz Luhrmann's wife was responsible. If we calculate how many different clothes are actors wearing in this large-scale production, then we can state that it's undoubtedly the most expensive costume budget of the year. Nearly 500 clothes are in the mood of the '20s, but they are not contemporary - creators tried to figure out what the people would have been wear if they had lived today. New colors and lines were used, much more decorations were applied and old features were laid in a modern gown.
Miuccia Prada made 40 costumes for the film: she converted previous pieces of Prada and Miu Miu to fit the roaring '20s. The most prestigious piece was Daisy's crystal chandelier dress, which weighs six pounds. To make the picture more glittering and more impressive, diamonds were provided by Tiffany and Co. with a pile of security guards who were always in the track of the actress. Brooks Brothers was the supplier of actors' costumes. The concept was that Leonardo DiCaprio was the only one who did not wear black. Let's see the costumes! :)
